The Oxapampa Poison Frog
The extremely rare Oxapampa poison frog lives by tropical streams next to Oxapampa town in Peru. The expansion of agriculture is presenting a lethal threat to this species. We humans are causing a constant decline in the extent and quality of its habitat.
Further research is needed to understand how many Oxapampa poison frogs are left and captive-breeding programmes might be required to ensure its survival.
We won’t watch silently as this beautiful frog and other unsung critters are being wiped out.
